Milorad Dodik advocates for Serbian stability and Dayton Agreement rights

Milorad Dodik, President of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats, has made several political statements regarding the relationship between Republika Srpska and Serbia, as well as the constitutional status of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Niš, Serbia, Dodik expressed support for Aleksandar Vučić, stating that Republika Srpska stands with him. He characterized Vučić as a statesman capable of maintaining stability and fostering strong relations with Republika Srpska. Dodik emphasized a shared vision between the two entities, noting that Republika Srpska looks toward Serbia as part of a single people and state.

In Banja Luka, Dodik addressed the legal standing of Republika Srpska within Bosnia and Herzegovina. He asserted that the entity is not pursuing secession but is instead fighting to preserve the competencies and rights guaranteed by the Dayton Peace Agreement. He called for the review and annulment of decisions made by the High Representative that were not approved by the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Furthermore, Dodik criticized the current European integration path, describing the approach pushed by Brussels as “anti-Serb.” He argued that the European Union must provide a clearer perspective for Republika Srpska to make the integration process acceptable to its citizens, emphasizing that the entity seeks affirmation as an integral part of Bosnia and Herzegovina with its rights respected.
