Republika Srpska commemorates NATO bombing victims

Officials in Republika Srpska are observing a day of remembrance for the victims of NATO airstrikes conducted in 1994 and 1995. The commemorations, held in East Sarajevo, focus on the military and civilian casualties resulting from operations such as ‘Deliberate Force’ and ‘Deadly Eye’.

Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska, described the NATO bombings as a “crime without precedent” and emphasized that remembering the victims is a profound act of patriotism. Siniša Karan also highlighted the long-term consequences of the attacks, specifically noting the use of depleted uranium ammunition and its link to ongoing health issues among the population.

The leaders stressed the importance of maintaining a culture of remembrance to honor those who lost their lives and to ensure that the historical responsibility for the aggression is not forgotten by future generations.
