Milorad Marković calls for judicial administration reform in Montenegro

Supreme State Prosecutor Milorad Marković has stated that improving the material and professional status of judicial administration must be an integral part of overall judicial reform in Montenegro.

Marković noted that while the recent adoption of the Law on Salaries and Other Rights related to judicial and constitutional functions by the Parliament of Montenegro was a significant step for judges and prosecutors, parallel efforts are needed for administrative staff. He emphasized that the efficiency of the judiciary relies heavily on a professional, responsible, and motivated administration to ensure the daily functioning of courts and prosecutor's offices.

He further argued that enhancing the status of these employees—including better compensation, professional development, and stability—is essential for meeting the standards required for Montenegro’s European Union integration process. According to Marković, institutions must possess the necessary administrative and organizational capacities to achieve better results in judicial quality and timeliness.
