Pupovac emphasized that those responsible must face legal consequences regardless of their nationality or whether the acts were driven by arson, negligence, or intoxication. He specifically warned against the use of these incidents to fuel religious and national hatred or to incite violence against the Serbian community on social media.

He also highlighted the collaborative efforts of firefighters and citizens, noting that volunteer fire departments from both predominantly Serbian and Croatian areas worked together to combat the blazes. Pupovac called on the government to implement programs to strengthen fire protection and land management to mitigate the increasing risks posed by rising temperatures.
