Milorad Pupovac and Stipo Mlinarić clash over missing persons

A political dispute has escalated in Croatia between Stipo Mlinarić Ćipe of the Homeland Movement (Domovinski pokret) and Milorad Pupovac, president of the SDSS, regarding the fate of missing persons from the Homeland War.

Mlinarić has accused Pupovac of silence and concealing information that could assist in locating missing Croatian soldiers and civilians. In response, Pupovac stated that these are extremely serious accusations of war crimes concealment and indicated that his legal team is reviewing potential legal action against Mlinarić for making such claims without adequate evidence.

The Homeland Movement has rejected Pupovac’s characterization of the issue as a campaign against Serbs, instead demanding that Pupovac provide concrete results regarding his efforts to have Serbian archives opened to assist in finding the missing. Pupovac has countered by accusing Mlinarić of conducting a long-term political campaign against the Serbian minority.
