Milton Cato Memorial Hospital contains drug-resistant outbreak

Health Minister Daniel Cummings has announced that a drug-resistant bacterial outbreak at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital has been contained. The outbreak involved four patients who developed skin lesions caused by Carbapenem-Resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB), a strain resistant to powerful antibiotics.

All four affected patients have either fully recovered or are nearing recovery, and no new cases have been detected. Following the initial discovery in August, health authorities implemented enhanced infection prevention, contact tracing, and increased sanitation protocols to prevent further transmission.
