Milton Cunha criticizes Pabllo Vittar over Carnival history claims

Carnival designer and commentator Milton Cunha criticized singer Pabllo Vittar during an appearance on the program ‘Blogueirinha Entrevista’. Cunha expressed discomfort regarding claims of pioneering status attributed to the artist.

Cunha alleged that Vittar had previously claimed to be the first trans person to receive prominence on a samba school float in the Sapucaí. The commentator argued that such claims overlook historical LGBTQIA+ figures who paved the way in Rio de Janeiro's Carnival, specifically naming Rogéria, Valéria, Heloína, and Jane de Castro.

During the discussion, host Blogueirinha contested Cunha's account, stating that Vittar is a drag queen rather than a trans woman and therefore would not have made such a claim. Cunha maintained his position, asserting he was present when the comments were made. The exchange concluded with Blogueirinha jokingly describing Vittar as ‘folgada’ (cheeky/bold).
