Milton Doyle joins Illawarra Hawks for NBL27 season

NBL recruit Milton Doyle has joined the Illawarra Hawks for the NBL27 season, citing the opportunity to play alongside Tyler Harvey as a primary reason for his move to Wollongong. Doyle, a 32-year-old former NBA player for the Brooklyn Nets and a previous NBL champion with the Tasmania JackJumpers, expressed excitement about the team’s fast-paced offensive style under coach Justin Tatum.

Doyle aims to prove critics wrong regarding his recent performance, noting that he led his previous team, Melbourne United, in scoring despite media narratives suggesting a decline. He believes his and Harvey’s similar skill sets as large guards will complement each other in the Hawks' backcourt. The Hawks are scheduled to begin their season against New Zealand on September 19 at Spark Arena.
