Milton Leite investigated for prison privileges and PCC links

Authorities are investigating allegations of illegal privileges granted to former São Paulo City Council President Milton Leite while held at the Mogi das Cruzes Public Jail. The investigation, conducted by the Public Ministry of São Paulo (MP-SP) through the Gaeco group, follows reports of an unusual flow of visitors and special treatment, including reports of Leite leaving the facility for lunches.

During a recent operation, investigators seized approximately R$ 155,000 and US$ 10,000 from a prison guard suspected of facilitating these benefits. A search of the guard's residence uncovered additional funds. The probe is part of a broader investigation into the alleged infiltration of the PCC criminal faction into São Paulo's public transport sector, specifically targeting bus companies.

Leite, who has been in custody since September 18, has categorically denied any links to the PCC or involvement in illegal bus company operations. A judge has extended his temporary detention for an additional 30 days to allow for the completion of forensic analysis on encrypted electronic devices.
