Milton man arrested in fatal hit-and-run; Essex commercial fire extinguished

A man from Milton was arrested on September 2 in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred last November on Old Bagdad Highway. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision resulted in the death of a pedestrian.

In a separate incident in Great Notley, Essex, firefighters responded to a late-night blaze at a commercial building near Braintree. The fire, which affected a structure measuring approximately 20 by 30 metres, was caused by a faulty lithium battery unit. Emergency crews extinguished the flames and advised local residents to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke.
