Miltos Tendoğlu claims Diamond League Xiamen victory with world‑leading 8.46 m jump

Greek high‑jumper Miltos Tendoğlu won the men's high‑jump at the Diamond League meeting in Xiamen, China, clearing 8.46 metres on his third attempt. The mark matched the best performance recorded worldwide for the 2024 season, previously set by Portugal's Zércón Balde in March.

Tendoğlu’s victory came without the need for further jumps after securing the lead. Jamaica’s Tajie Gale took second place with an 8.32 m clearance, while Bulgaria’s Bozhidar Sarampoykov and Italy’s Matteo Furlani finished third and fourth respectively. In the women’s competition, Greece’s Elina Jengo placed tenth after failing to produce a qualifying mark, while 18‑year‑old Chinese athlete Zig Yi Guan set a new world junior record of 71.74 cm, moving her to second on the all‑time list.
