Miltos Tentoglou named finalist for European Athlete of the Year

Greek long jumper Miltos Tentoglou has been named as one of the three finalists for the European Athletics Male Athlete of the Year award for 2026. Tentoglou joins Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis and Italian athlete Gianmarco Tamberi in the final selection.

The winner will be announced on October 24 during the Golden Tracks ceremony in Lausanne. The final selection is determined by four different voting groups, each weighted at 25%: the public, national federations, media representatives, and the European Athletics expert committee.

Tentoglou’s nomination follows a highly successful season in which he secured the Ultimate Championship and topped the global rankings with a jump of 8.66 meters. He also earned a gold medal at the European Championships in Birmingham. His career highlights include two Olympic gold medals from Tokyo and Paris, along with three world titles.
