Milvus highlights cost risks of foreign-currency Service Desk software
As companies prepare for the 2027 planning cycle, IT departments are facing the challenge of reducing costs without sacrificing productivity. A significant factor in these budget reviews is the use of international Service Desk platforms, which often involve costs in foreign currencies.
Felix Schultz, CEO of the Brazilian company Milvus, suggests that instead of simply cutting technology, companies should evaluate the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). This metric accounts for implementation, user licensing, additional modules, integrations, support, taxes, and the impact of exchange rate fluctuations.
While global solutions like ServiceNow, Zendesk, Freshservice, and Jira Service Management are widely used in the Brazilian corporate market, their reliance on foreign currency can expose budgets to volatility. Milvus indicates that reviewing these contracts could lead to savings of up to 60% in certain scenarios by switching to more cost-effective solutions.
