Milwaukee 16-year-old Camron Bowen killed in shooting

A vigil was held in Milwaukee for 16-year-old Camron Bowen, who was shot and killed on Saturday, Sept. 19, near the intersection of Layton Blvd. and Greenfield Ave. Bowen, a sophomore at Bay View High School, was reportedly shot seven times in what his mother described as an “ambush.”

Bowen’s mother, Jennifer Cassidy, stated that her son had been involved in a fight at school the previous week and alleged that the suspect may have been on the same bus as Bowen on the day of the shooting. Family members described Bowen as a kind student who enjoyed anime and hoped to study technology in college.

The Milwaukee Police Department is currently investigating the incident and searching for unknown suspects. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Milwaukee Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
