Milwaukee Brewers acquire Jonathan Ornelas amid Brice Turang injury

Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Brice Turang is sidelined due to a lingering left knee injury. While an initial MRI did not reveal anything of major concern, Turang is seeking second opinions to determine the severity of the issue. Manager Pat Murphy noted that the 26-year-old needs time to address the pain, though the team is currently treating him as day-to-day.

In response to the injury and efforts to bolster infield depth, the Brewers acquired Jonathan Ornelas from the Athletics for cash considerations. Ornelas, 26, started at second base for the Brewers during their series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. As part of the transaction, infielder Jihwan Bae was designated for assignment.
