Milwaukee Brewers add Bo Naylor and JoJo Romero to active roster

The Milwaukee Brewers have expanded their active roster to 28 players, adding catcher Bo Naylor and reliever JoJo Romero. Naylor was recalled from Triple-A Nashville following his acquisition from the Cleveland Guardians during the trade deadline.

Naylor, 26, provides the NL Central leaders with additional depth behind William Contreras and Gary Sánchez. Brewers manager Pat Murphy noted that Naylor’s presence allows the team to use Sánchez more frequently as a designated hitter and adds a left-handed bat to the lineup.

Reliever JoJo Romero has been reinstated from the 15-day injured list after recovering from an appendectomy. Romero, who was acquired from St. Louis in a trade involving Dustin May, has not pitched in a major league game since July 12.
