Milwaukee Brewers face fan backlash over World Series ticket promotion
The Milwaukee Brewers are facing criticism from fans regarding a 2015 “Timeless Ticket” promotion as the team prepares for its first World Series appearance since 1982. The promotion allowed fans to purchase a ticket for $1,000 that could be redeemed for any future home game, with the promise of “the best available seat locations.”
As the Brewers prepare to face the Tampa Bay Rays, several hundred ticket holders have attempted to redeem their passes. However, many fans, including Wisconsin brothers Kevin and Kyle Deaton, report being offered terrace-level or standing-room-only seats rather than the premium locations they expected. Critics argue these options do not reflect the original spirit of the deal.
Brewers president of business operations Rick Schlesinger acknowledged that the organization “erred in our internal communications on the logistics of fulfilling the requests.” While the team has been able to accommodate all requests with seats, Schlesinger noted they are working toward a resolution to address fan dissatisfaction regarding seat quality.
