Milwaukee Brewers curb Jacob Misiorowski's workload after concerning Mets start

Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy said the team will closely monitor pitcher Jacob Misiorowski’s workload following a four‑inning start against the New York Mets in which he allowed one unearned run, four hits and struck out six. Though his performance was solid, Murphy described the outing as “concerning” because Misiorowski seemed short‑changed on his legs and his fastball velocity dropped after the long layoff.

The Brewers had already scratched Misiorowski from a scheduled start before the All‑Star break due to arm fatigue, and he missed the All‑Star Game despite being selected. Murphy explained the team is treating the extended rest as a reset, planning to “build him back up” and be mindful of any signs of fatigue. Misiorowski, who has logged 115 innings this season, acknowledged he felt “halfway decent” and “good enough” after the abbreviated appearance. The Brewers, who lead the NL Central with the league’s best record, hope the cautious approach will preserve their ace for a deep postseason run.
