Zac Thornton earns first MLB win as Mets blank Brewers 4-0

The New York Mets defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 4‑0 at American Family Field on Tuesday night. Rookie left‑hander Zac Thornton threw six scoreless innings, allowing three hits, one walk and striking out two, earning his first career victory and extending his shutout streak to 18 innings – the longest by a Mets rookie since Steven Matz in 2016. Jared Young opened the scoring with a solo home run in the second inning, and Luis Robert Jr. added a 451‑foot solo blast in the eighth.
