Milwaukee Brewers place Grant Anderson on 15-day injured list
The Milwaukee Brewers have placed right-handed pitcher Grant Anderson on the 15-day injured list due to right biceps inflammation. The move comes after Anderson pitched a season-high 2 2/3 innings and 44 pitches during a recent game against the Cincinnati Reds.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy noted that while Anderson experienced discomfort after being extended in his recent outing, there was no evidence of structural damage. Anderson, who has been a significant contributor to the bullpen this season with a 3.36 ERA, is expected to be eligible for activation by September 22.
To fill the roster spot, the Brewers have recalled right-hander Brandon Sproat from Triple-A Nashville. Sproat, 25, previously worked primarily as a starter for Milwaukee this season but has been working in shorter stints in the minor leagues to prepare for a potential bullpen role.
