Despite the controversy, several Brewers players have expressed their support for Murphy’s leadership and accountability standards. Designated hitter Christian Yelich stated that the team has agreed to hold one another accountable to a specific style of play. Reliever Aaron Ashby also defended the decision, suggesting the benching could ultimately benefit Pratt’s development.
