Milwaukee Bucks eye Jonathan Kuminga and Peyton Watson as roster rebuild after Giannis trade

After trading two‑time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat, the Milwaukee Bucks have begun a major roster overhaul. In the deal the Bucks received guard Tyler Herro, forward Jaime Jaquez Jr., and multiple draft assets.

With a cleared salary cap, Milwaukee has been linked to Atlanta Hawks forward Jonathan Kuminga, who declined his team option and could be acquired via sign‑and‑trade using the Bucks’ traded player exception. The team is also reportedly interested in Denver Nuggets forward Peyton Watson, a restricted free agent who could be pursued in a similar sign‑and‑trade.

The Bucks finished last season 32‑50 after Antetokounmpo’s limited availability and are expected to rely on young players such as Brayden Burries and Nate Ament, drafted from Miami’s No. 13 pick, as they rebuild.
