Milwaukee Bucks sign Johni Broome, waive John Butler Jr

The Milwaukee Bucks have signed forward Johni Broome to a training camp deal. To make roster space for Broome, the team waived center John Butler Jr.

Broome, a 24-year-old 6-foot-10 forward, was previously selected 35th overall in the 2025 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. After being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers and subsequently waived, he joins Milwaukee on what is believed to be a non-guaranteed contract. Broome previously played for the Delaware Blue Coats in the NBA G League, where he averaged 21.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game before undergoing meniscus surgery in February.

John Butler Jr., who spent time with the team during Summer League, is expected to rejoin the Wisconsin Herd for the upcoming season.
