Giannis Antetokounmpo trade talks link Milwaukee Bucks with Miami Heat

NBA trade speculation centers on two‑time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. Reported discussions and proposals suggest the Miami Heat are the frontrunner to acquire him before the 2026 NBA Draft. Proposed packages for Milwaukee include the Heat’s No. 13 overall pick, several future first‑round selections and young players such as guard Tyler Herro, 22‑year‑old forward Kel’el Ware and forward Jaime Jaquez Jr.

Other Eastern Conference teams, notably the Boston Celtics, have also expressed interest, with Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens saying, “Giannis is at the top of that list.” Miami Heat executive Pat Riley added, “Giannis is the best player in the league, and we’d love to have him in Miami.” The Bucks, however, have publicly reiterated their commitment to the star. General Manager Jon Horst stated, “Giannis is the cornerstone of our franchise, and we’re committed to building around him. Any trade discussions are purely speculative at this stage.”

The rumors have intensified after the Bucks’ disappointing 32‑50 season and Antetokounmpo’s $58.5 million contract for the upcoming year, with a $62.8 million player option the following season. While a trade before the February deadline appears unlikely, the ongoing chatter could reshape the Eastern Conference playoff picture if it materializes.
