Mimí Denisi announces high-budget series ‘Madre-Μάνα’ to film in Thessaloniki

Mimí Denisi has announced the upcoming production of her new television series, ‘Madre-Μάνα’, written by Denisi and directed by Giannis Sakaridis. Described as the most expensive series ever produced for Greek television, the project aims for international distribution.

Filming is scheduled to begin in February and is expected to conclude its first phase in June. The production will use Thessaloniki as a primary setting, utilizing locations such as the Rotunda, Byzantine walls, the White Tower, and the port. Additional filming will take place in the old city of Xanthi and the Barbouta Jewish quarter in Veria.

The series serves as a narrative continuation of the stage production ‘From Smyrna... to Thessaloniki’ and begins its storyline in 1943, focusing on the character Filió.
