Mimika Immigration Office deports Papua New Guinea national

The Mimika Immigration Office has deported a Papua New Guinea citizen, identified as Ben Alois Natkime (also known as Ruben Alois or RA), for entering Indonesia without valid immigration documents.

The incident began following community reports on June 23, 2026, regarding a foreign national selling Papua New Guinea-themed clothing and accessories near Jalan Cenderawasih SP2 in Mimika, Central Papua. Following field surveillance, immigration officials located the individual on July 16, 2026.

Investigations revealed that the individual entered Indonesia illegally via a land border in Jayapura. He had reportedly been in Mimika for approximately two months. It was also noted that the individual had previously studied at a university in Indonesia and had used a student identity card to facilitate his movement from Jayapura to Timika.
