Mimika reports land execution, fund delays, and health security concerns

Various administrative, legal, and social developments are occurring in Mimika, Papua Tengah. The Mimika State Court executed a land seizure of 5,000 square meters on Jalan Cenderawasih following a final legal ruling, resulting in the demolition of fences and buildings on the site.

Regarding regional finances, the realization of Special Autonomy (Otsus) funds in Mimika stands at approximately Rp58.84 billion, or 25 percent of the total Rp228.97 billion allocation. This current progress is categorized as Stage 1, and the region has not yet met the 50 percent absorption requirement necessary to trigger Stage 2 disbursements.

In public health, the Mimika District Health Office is withholding the return of medical personnel to the Jila District until official security guarantees are provided by authorities. While local indigenous health workers remain on standby, full operations are pending safety assurances.

Additionally, Mimika authorities held ceremonies to commemorate National Transportation Day and the 81st anniversary of the Indonesian Red Cross, emphasizing the importance of connectivity in remote and underdeveloped areas.
