Mimoza Kusari-Lila shares personal breast cancer diagnosis

Mimoza Kusari-Lila, the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, has publicly shared her experience with breast cancer. Speaking at a panel organized for Pink October with students from RIT Kosova, she revealed she was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in October 2024.

Kusari-Lila emphasized the critical importance of early detection, noting that finding the disease in its initial stages significantly increases the chances of recovery. She advocated for breaking the silence and stigma surrounding the illness, stating that the fight against cancer should be a collective societal effort rather than a solitary struggle.

She also called for greater involvement from men and boys in awareness initiatives, highlighting that their support is vital for women facing this health challenge.
