Mina Karamitrou addresses career move and AI deepfake scam

Greek journalist Mina Karamitrou has addressed several recent developments regarding her professional life and personal security. During an appearance on the program ‘Studio sti 3’, she discussed her departure from the OPEN network and subsequent move to SKAI. Karamitrou stated that her exit was due to “purely personal reasons” involving her relationship with OPEN’s General Director of Information, Christos Panagiotopoulos, whom she described as a mentor or “journalistic father.” She emphasized her desire to move forward and avoid professional restrictions.

Separately, Karamitrou has warned the public about a digital scam involving her likeness. She revealed on Instagram that an AI-generated deepfake video is circulating, falsely depicting her promoting gambling services. Karamitrou clarified that she has no connection to these advertisements and has informed the Cyber Crime Division regarding the fraudulent use of her image and name.
