Minab school becomes memorial after deadly strike in Iran

The Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab, Iran, is being transformed into a memorial and war museum following a strike during the initial phase of military actions by the United States and Israel on February 28. Iranian officials reported that more than 100 students were killed in the attack.

An Associated Press investigation found evidence suggesting at least one U.S. missile hit the school, though the Trump administration has not accepted responsibility or released Pentagon findings regarding the incident. The school building remains heavily damaged, with classrooms containing buried desks and collapsed ceilings.

Hormozgan Governor Mohammad Ashouri Taziani stated the ruins would be preserved as a historical record and a memorial. In the surrounding area, a section of the Minab cemetery has been dedicated to the victims, though residents report that three bodies have yet to be recovered.
