Minas Gerais 2026 election candidates file asset declarations
As the 2026 elections approach in Minas Gerais, several candidates have filed their official asset declarations and candidacy registrations with the Electoral Court.
Senator Cleitinho Azevedo, a candidate for the governorship of Minas Gerais, faces allegations regarding his travel habits. Despite a public platform emphasizing modesty and austerity, reports suggest he has frequently used private aircraft for trips between Minas Gerais and Brasília. These flights allegedly included aircraft belonging to Euclydes Pettersen and businessman Roberto Altino.
Other candidates for legislative positions have also released their financial profiles. Euclydes Pettersen, running for federal deputy, declared assets totaling approximately R$ 6.8 million, including rural properties and a 50% stake in a Cessna aircraft. Cassio Soares, a candidate for federal deputy, declared assets of R$ 5.9 million. Marcelo Heitor and Dr. Rogerio Leal, both candidates for state deputy, declared assets of R$ 1.4 million and R$ 1.8 million, respectively.
