Minas Gerais agricultural sector expands producer engagement and safety training

The Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Minas Gerais (Faemg) recently concluded the ‘Agro em Ação 2026’ initiative, which mobilized over 8,000 rural producers and leaders across six regions of Minas Gerais. The program, held between September 15 and October 2, aimed to provide analyses on the current agricultural landscape and its future, while strengthening the connection between producers and regional leadership.

In a related effort to support the sector, Senar Minas has introduced a new training course focused on the safe maintenance of agricultural machinery. A pilot program was conducted in Campina Verde with employees from ACP Bioenergia, covering 16 hours of instruction on risk identification and energy source lockout procedures (LOTO). The training is designed to comply with safety standards NR-12 and NR-31 to reduce accidents in rural properties, cooperatives, and agribusiness companies.
