Minas Gerais and Mogi Mirim advance education plan monitoring and new municipal plan

The Minas Gerais State Legislative Assembly’s Education, Science and Technology Committee delivered a 112‑page preliminary report to Education Secretary Gustavo Braga after 16 public hearings. The report evaluates the 2018‑2027 State Education Plan, highlights data gaps, and recommends improvements such as a new reporting system, expanded public data series, and linking the education budget to goal achievement. Braga noted that universal access to education remains unmet and functional illiteracy targets are still distant.

In the municipality of Mogi Mirim, the municipal education secretariat held its third pre‑conference for the upcoming 2026‑2036 Municipal Education Plan. Stakeholders—including students, families, teachers, managers, higher‑education institutions, and local officials—discussed diagnostics and proposals on learning outcomes, access, management and financing. Approved suggestions will be incorporated into the draft plan, reviewed by technical staff, and later presented to the city council for approval.
