Minas Gerais Fire Department enhances training and conducts rescue
The Military Fire Department of Minas Gerais has enhanced its operational capabilities in Itabira through the completion of new training structures. These include a high-altitude rescue tower and a swimming area locker room, developed through a partnership between the Fire Department, the Salvar Foundation, and the Public Prosecutor's Office of Minas Gerais.
In a separate operational incident, firefighters from the 5th Battalion successfully rescued a 33-year-old worker who fell into an underground water reservoir. Rescuers utilized mechanical advantage systems with ropes and pulleys to access the confined space. The victim, who remained conscious but suspected of having an upper limb fracture, was stabilized using a Sked stretcher and transferred to SAMU medical professionals for transport to the Roosevelt Integrated Care Unit.
