Minas Gerais government announces 200 new education hires and launches fleet‑management dashboard

The Minas Gerais state government published a new batch of 200 appointments to its public‑education workforce, appointing 100 Assistentes Técnicos de Educação Básica and 100 Especialistas em Educação Básica. The hires are part of the larger public‑service competition that has already placed more than 7,000 staff since February and aims to fill nearly 14,000 positions across the state’s 47 regional education superintendencies. The education secretariat highlighted that the appointments strengthen the public‑school system and improve opportunities for students.

Separately, the State Secretariat of Planning and Management (Seplag‑MG) unveiled the “Gestão de Frota por Indicadores” (GFI) system, a data‑driven dashboard that monitors the state’s fleet of over 22,000 vehicles. The platform aggregates 26 indicators on usage, fuel consumption, maintenance and costs, drawing on integrated material‑services and fuel‑price databases. Officials said the tool will increase transparency, curb waste and help managers make faster, more informed decisions about vehicle allocation and procurement.
