Minas Gerais government announces education career advancements and student exchange selections

The Minas Gerais State Government, through the State Secretariat of Education (SEE/MG), has announced several updates regarding the state's education sector.

In terms of personnel, the government published 1,518 new career progression and promotion acts for state education employees. This includes 987 progressions and 531 promotions for professionals who met the legal criteria established by Law No. 15,293/2004. This brings the total number of benefits granted in 2026 to 56,657.

Regarding student initiatives, the SEE/MG released the pre-selection list for the 3rd edition of the 'Passaporte Mineiro do Conhecimento'. From 5,437 applicants, 400 students from full-time high schools and 50 alternates have been pre-selected for the 2026/2027 cycle. These students will now enter a preparatory phase involving formative tracks, video analysis, and interviews. Ultimately, 160 students will be selected to receive full scholarships for international exchange programs.
