Minas Gerais reaches US$ 32.7 billion in exports through September
Minas Gerais recorded US$ 32.7 billion in exports from January to September 2026, maintaining its position as Brazil's third-largest exporting state and accounting for 11.5% of national external sales. During this period, the state accumulated a trade surplus of US$ 17.4 billion.
Gold emerged as the most exported product of the year, seeing an increase of US$ 1.1 billion compared to the same period in 2025. In September alone, the state exported US$ 3.5 billion, driven largely by coffee (US$ 921 million), gold (US$ 363.5 million), and ferroalloys (US$ 226.4 million). The primary international buyers were China (29.9%), the United States (11.0%), and Italy (5.1%).
In addition to economic performance, the state government has initiated its administrative transition process. Governor Mateus Simões announced that transition meetings will be conducted transparently and broadcast live to the public. Meanwhile, the State Secretariat of Education has released the results of the occupational recertification process for 2,096 state school directors based on management and pedagogical indicators.
