Domestic violence incidents reported across Brazil and Portugal

Multiple incidents of domestic violence and related crimes have been reported across Brazil and Portugal.

In Minas Gerais, Brazil, a man killed his ex-partner, Lucimar Ambrósio André, and her sister, Sabrina Gonçalves Ambrósio, before taking his own life. The victim had a protective order in place. In other Brazilian regions, a trans woman was rescued from five days of captivity by her ex-partner in São Paulo, and a man in Mato Grosso was arrested for killing his wife with a knife after a verbal altercation. Other cases include a man in Xapuri being investigated for a shooting that killed a woman, and a man in Várzea Grande detained for attempting to force entry into his child's school in violation of a protective order.

In Portugal, the GNR arrested a 68-year-old man in Portalegre for suspected psychological violence against his wife. Authorities seized a firearm, ammunition, and an axe. The court imposed restrictions including a 500-meter exclusion zone monitored by an electronic bracelet.
