Minas Gerais medical experts begin strike over administrative disputes

Medical experts affiliated with the Government of Minas Gerais have initiated a strike scheduled to last until Friday, September 18. The mobilization, approved by the Sinmed-MG union, affects professionals within the State Secretariat of Planning and Management (Seplag).

The strike suspends services related to medical expertise for state public servants, including the analysis of medical leave requests, return-to-work evaluations, and disability retirement processes.

Key grievances include demands for clarification regarding payroll deductions, opposition to the transfer of the medical expertise headquarters to the Imprensa Oficial building, concerns over potential outsourcing of services, and calls for a public competition to replenish the professional workforce. Additionally, doctors are questioning administrative changes and the requirement for full-time in-person attendance.
