Minas Gerais police seize weapons and drugs in two trafficking arrests

On 12 June 2026, the Military Police’s ROTAM unit of the 37th Battalion in Araxá detained a 34‑year‑old man suspected of drug trafficking. During the raid officers recovered a 9 mm pistol, 17 cartridges, two sizable bundles of marijuana, two mobile phones and cash, and the suspect was taken to the civil police station for charging.

The following day, 13 June 2026, police on the MG‑050 highway near Divinópolis stopped a Ford Pampa that was transporting a red Honda XRE‑300 motorcycle without plates and with its chassis and engine numbers erased. The driver, a 16‑year‑old who already has a record for drug trafficking, was seized along with the stripped motorcycle for investigation. The incident was recorded as “adulteração de sinal identificador de veículo.”
