Minas Gerais promotes culinary and historical tourism

The state of Minas Gerais continues to promote its culinary and historical heritage through regional tourism and gastronomic initiatives. In Serro, located in the Serra do Espinhaço, visitors can explore colonial architecture and the historic Estrada Real, a former diamond route. The municipality is also a destination for nature tourism, particularly in the district of Milho Verde, which is known for its waterfalls and natural pools.

Complementing these regional attractions, the 'Rota do Queijo de Minas' (Minas Cheese Route) is expanding its reach. The initiative recently launched an event in Juiz de Fora featuring free tastings and fairs to connect consumers with artisanal producers from territories such as Canastra, Diamantina, Mantiqueira de Minas, and Zona da Mata. The project uses digital maps and QR codes to help tourists locate various cheese producers, inns, and restaurants across the state.
