Minas Gerais promotes healthy school meals and family farming

To mark National School Feeding Day, the Minas Gerais State Department of Education (SEE/MG) is emphasizing the importance of nutritious meals for student well-being, learning, and school retention.

The state government has allocated over R$ 480 million in state resources for school feeding programs for 2026. These initiatives focus on food quality, nutritional monitoring, and the promotion of family farming by sourcing products from local producers.

At the Sagrada Família II State School in Belo Horizonte, officials noted that healthy meals serve as a fundamental pillar for student development and help ensure students remain in the educational environment.
