Minas Gerais: Record-breaking dish and water management updates

In Minas Gerais, Brazil, the municipality of São Pedro dos Ferros has entered the Brazilian Book of Records. The achievement follows the preparation of 306 liters of chicken with ora-pro-nóbis during the fifth edition of the city's Gastronomic Festival on August 22.

Meanwhile, the city of Uberaba is facing water supply restrictions. Codau reported that all city reservoirs will be closed starting Monday night due to the reservoir index dropping to 27.6%, triggering a contingency plan alert. The closure is intended to allow system levels to recover during the early morning hours.

Additionally, the sanitation company Copasa has introduced a new Strategic Plan for Water Reuse and Controlled Effluent Disposal in Soil. Developed with specialized institutions, the project aims to map the supply and demand of treated effluents to establish sewage as a safe water alternative in the state.
