Minas Gerais state deputies seek reelection in 2026

In Minas Gerais, 68 state deputies are seeking reelection in the upcoming 2026 elections, representing 88.31% of the 77 members of the Legislative Assembly of Minas Gerais (ALMG). This is a slight increase from 2022, when 66 deputies sought new mandates.

Several current lawmakers are shifting roles. Tadeu Leite, President of the ALMG, and Ione Pinheiro are transitioning to positions as counselors on the State Court of Accounts (TCE-MG). Meanwhile, five current state deputies—Bella Gonçalves, Lohanna, Caporezzo, Cássio Soares, and Carlos Pimenta—are running for seats in the Chamber of Deputies.

The first round of voting is scheduled for October 4, with the second round following on October 25.
