Minato Mirai to host 30th anniversary TOWERS Milight event

The Minato Mirai district in Yokohama will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its TOWERS Milight “UP” light-up event on December 24, 2026. Approximately 40 buildings across the area will illuminate their offices and exteriors simultaneously from 17:00 to 20:00.

The event, which originated in 1993 with the Yokohama Landmark Tower, has become a local tradition. To align with decarbonization goals, the district will also host TOWERS Milight “DOWN” on March 20, 2027. This light-down event coincides with Earth Hour, during which participating buildings will dim or turn off lights to promote energy conservation and environmental awareness.
