MIND ID holds prayer service for missing journalists in Sunda Strait

Journalists and members of MIND ID held a moment of silence and prayer for five journalists and crew members who remain missing in the waters of the Sunda Strait. The search operation, conducted by a joint SAR team, entered its fourth day near the Anak Krakatau volcano area.

The missing individuals have been identified as M. Bagus Khoirunnas (ANTARA), Ari Basuki (Merdeka.com), Yudistiro Pranoto (iNews), Firman Daus (Anadolu Agency), and freelance journalist Donal Husni. The memorial took place during the launch of the MediaMIND 2026 socialization event at the University of Indonesia.

Separately, the MediaMIND 2026 initiative, organized by the Indonesian mining industry holding company MIND ID, is also serving as a platform for regional journalists to report on mining activities. The program aims to provide broader perspectives on the mining sector, including social impacts and sustainability efforts in regions such as Bangka Belitung.
