Mindy Kaling joins cast of Netflix series ‘Running Point’ season 3
Mindy Kaling, co-creator and executive producer of the Netflix sports comedy ‘Running Point’, will join the cast in a recurring role for the show’s third season. Kaling is set to portray Divya, the outspoken and confident CEO of a popular gambling application.
According to character descriptions, Divya is a female leader in a male-dominated field, similar to the series protagonist Isla Gordon (played by Kate Hudson), though the two characters are expected to clash throughout the season.
Production for season three is currently underway in Los Angeles. The upcoming season will also see Kate Hudson make her television directorial debut, directing the first episode. The series, which is inspired by the real-life leadership of Jeanie Buss with the Los Angeles Lakers, follows the attempts of Isla Gordon to manage her family’s professional basketball team, the Los Angeles Waves.
