Minecraft Dungeons II launches with interconnected world and new mechanics

Minecraft Dungeons II has launched, introducing significant structural changes to the action RPG formula. Unlike its predecessor, which relied on isolated missions, the sequel features an interconnected Overworld with various biomes, such as the Howling Woods and Frozen Highlands, allowing for continuous exploration.

Key gameplay updates include a new jumping mechanic to improve environmental navigation and deeper equipment builds. Mojang also announced the Sift, a new dimension intended to eventually integrate into the main Minecraft universe, marking the first such addition in over 14 years.

The game is available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. It is also included in the Xbox Game Pass ecosystem. Additionally, a recent update has made the game playable on the Steam Deck, though full verification is still being worked on, and a balance patch has increased the maximum Emerald storage capacity from 9,999 to 99,999.
