Minecraft Dungeons II launches with Steam Deck compatibility work in progress

Minecraft Dungeons II has launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC. Developed by Mojang Studios and Double Eleven, the sequel maintains the accessible diablo-like formula of the original while introducing a more interconnected world with varied biomes, procedural and handcrafted locations, and a new jumping mechanic.

Despite the release, the title has faced technical challenges on Linux-based systems. Mojang has acknowledged feedback regarding the lack of Steam Deck support, noting that the team is currently working on a solution. The current issues stem from the game's reliance on Windows-specific Xbox APIs, which complicates performance on SteamOS. While Linux users have developed various community workarounds, the game currently holds a ‘Mixed’ rating on Steam due to these compatibility concerns and a lack of WASD support.
