Minecraft Dungeons II launches on PC and consoles
Mojang Studios and Double Eleven have officially released Minecraft Dungeons II on September 29, 2026. The action RPG is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, with the title also launching on Xbox Game Pass.
Building on the 2020 original, the sequel introduces a more interconnected world structure, moving away from isolated missions toward a continuous Overworld. A major new feature is the introduction of The Sift, an uncharted dimension that players can explore. Gameplay mechanics have been expanded, including a new jumping ability, increased combat slots, and a more complex equipment system featuring four armor pieces and additional talisman slots.
Critical reception has been generally positive, with many reviewers praising the increased depth, improved movement, and expanded customization. However, some outlets have noted technical issues, such as bugs and control scheme difficulties, as well as criticisms regarding loot progression and narrative depth. The game supports single-player and cooperative play for up to four players.
